Abstract:

The Neoclassic Egyptian poets were the first to have managed to save poetry from the scourge it was affected by during the Period of Degeneration, by means of the elements of movement, and to put it on the appropriate course of action. The present article attempts to review and evaluate the works of three prominent neoclassic poets (Baroudi, Shawqi, and HAFEZ IBRAHIM), whose poetry manifests the signs of renewal and modernization more than other poets. These poets refused to use stilted rhetorical literary devices; on the other hand they provided enough room for the devices of expression to be manifested; despite their attempts to maintain the solemnity of their words and style, following the literary figures of the golden age of the Arabian literature, they feared not either to resort to experiencing a new style or to turn to unprecedented, newly invoked motifs.

Abstract:

The Egyptian Neoclassic poets were the first poets who could save poetry from the calamities befallen them during the age of decadence and put it back on the right course once more. In this article attempt is made to analyze the poetry of three well known Neoclassic poets, namely, Baroudi, Shawqi, and HAFEZ IBRAHIM. Traces of modernism is more evident in their works than their contemporaries. While using the classical Arabic system of meter and rhyme, and also forms, the poets wrote to express new ideas and feelings unknown to the classicists.

Abstract:

IBRAHIM Sultan (796-838 AH) was a Timurid prince who ruled in Shiraz since 817 AH. He was a patron of arts and a renowned calligrapher. His calligraphic inscriptions which were all within his territory of rule, have been frequently referred to by historians. Nevertheless, only a few of those inscriptions remain today. Three of these inscriptions are carved in Persepolis. These inscriptions mention poems of Sa’di and refer to the name of the calligrapher, IBRAHIM Sultan. His undated inscription in the mausoleum of Ali-ibn-Hamzeh probably belongs to another building. There is another undated inscription in the Atiq Mosque, which could be his decree of appointment as the ruler of Shiraz and is probably his calligraphy.

Abstract:

Hermeneutics is one of the most important methods in modem literary criticism. This modem method has two different periods: I. Traditional hermeneutic which considers the principle of the definite and absolute meaning of discourse. II. New hermeneutics, which considers meaning as the reader, perceives. Although one may survey HAFEZ poetical works from different literary perspectives, such as the formalistic approach or the mythological attitude, one of the best methods in surveying and analyzing his poems is still the hermeneutic one.

Abstract:

The divine poems of Hafiz is beyond time and place, in fact, the influence of a permanent word of this modest poet can be clearly seen in the works of most sonnet composers after him. The depth and extent of this influence on the subcontinent has long existed. And his influence can be seen in works of great poets including Bidel Dehlavi, Saieb, Kalim, Iqbal Lahoori, Naziri, Orfi, Nasser Ali Sarhendi, Riyadh Kheirabadi, Jegar Morodabadi, Valeh Daghestani, etc. This study aimed to prove that: 1.Not all poets in Hindi style have been stretched to extremes in fantasy themes. 2.The background to return to Iraqi Style, especially to HAFEZ and Saadi’s sonnets was provided from within Hindi itself. This paper, applying a comparative analysis, aims at investigating and evaluating the extent that Galeb Dehlavi was influenced by HAFEZ in different dimensions such as: language, expression style, statement, vocabulary, composition, creating pictures, aesthetics of statements and innovation, prosody and poem rhythm, thoughts, wisdom, philosophical and social concepts and finally mystical ideas and origins.

Abstract:

Daulatshah, The historian, described IBRAHIM-sultan as «virtuous and talented prince who Patronized the arts.» Shahrukh, IBRAHIM - sultan’s father, bestowed the governorship of shiraz on him at the time of his cousin Iskandar’s downfall. Many of the gilders, binders and scribes who had executed Iskandar’s manuscripts appear to have remained in shiraz, and IBRAHIM made full use of their services in a fascinating series of manuscripts of poetry and Illustrated epic and dynastic history. IBRAHIM-sultan was a noted calligrapher himself and patron of poets and learned men. An example of the calligraphy of IBRAHIM-sultan is in a Qur’?n which he copied and which is now in the Pars museum at shiraz (no.430 m/p).The historian sharaf al–Din ?Ali Yazdi, the author of Zafarnama, which is completed in 828/1425, worked, with other scolars, for IBRAHIM–sultan. Several illustrated copies of zafarnama were made in the early 16 th century at shiraz. One of these appears to have Produced for IBRAHIM-Sultan. An interesting manuscript Produced under Patronage of IBRAHIM-Sultan is an arthology, now in the museum für Islamische kunst in Berlin, which dated 823/420. This anthology is dedicated by IBRAHIM-Sultan to his brother B?ysunghor, and was no doubt as a gift to be Presented to him. Several artists appear to have worked on it, for the manu script represent an extraordinary mixture of styles. From a blend of the Muzaffarid and early Timurid court styles sprang the court style of IBRAHIM-sultan. An interesting manuscript in this connexion is the Shahnama was Produced for IBRAHIM-Sultan himself. In this splendid manuscript the Shiraz style is at its height. The drawing is bold and free, and the colours rich. The manuscript contains an illuminated dedication and a verse Panegyric. It is covered with splendid illumination containing the signature of the illuminator, Nasr al-sultan. This shahnama cotians 47 miniature. IBRAHIM-Sultan is a Timurid prince whose position as a patron and spansor of fine painting is anomalous. He did have bibliophilic interests. He was an accomplished calligrapher is noted by the Timurid historians khwandamir and Daulatshah and repeated by later writers Principally Qazi Ahmad and Mustafa Ali. We may well wonder whether the pictorial aspect of the art the book occupied IBRAHIM-sultan at all in the years between 823/1420 and about 833/1430 or so. He copied Qur’ans: Five of the six have dates between 826/1422-3 and 827/1434. He executed monumental inscriptions for buildings in Shiraz and its environs, and at Perspolis. This article will Review and discussed the written record of IBRAHIM-sultan artistic achievements in Shiraz school of painting.
